The Dental Hygiene programme leads to an Associate of Science (A.Sc.)
degree for students who successfully complete the course of
study. Students are prepared to become registered dental
hygienists. Approaches to the vocational-professional
development of the student stem from the goal to graduate
competent clinicians who can positively affect their community
and the dental hygiene profession through personal, intellectual
and professional achievements. Students are trained to provide
preventive dental health care, treatment and education in a
dental hygienic clinic.
The programme endeavours to prepare students who are able to:
STUDENTS
This
programme is expected to accommodate ten to fifteen (10 -15)
students initially and will reach to twenty (20) students when the
programme is fully established. The programme will cater for
Jamaican students, students from the Northern Caribbean Region and
other international territories. Every effort is made to maintain
standard of conduct, which reflect the spiritual philosophy of
Northern Caribbean University. Northern Caribbean University’s role
is a small part of a worldwide mission, which includes Andrews
Memorial Hospital, Loma Linda University, Andrews University,
Oakwood College and other associated institutions.
